Built originally in 1972 for the Kentucky & Indiana Terminal now NS but still in their Southern paint SW1500's 78 and 77 work the Whittner yard.

Southern 78 (9/72, 7381-2) was former K&IT 78, later became NS 78, sold to Helm, painted UP colors and leased to UP as UPY 1011. Retired 11 March 2002.
